The demand for concrete acid staining is rising among Southwest Florida homeowners who are finding out just how versatile and beautiful these floors can be! Installing a concrete floor is much more than simply pouring that dull, gray concrete and waiting for it to dry. There are now so many ways that you can spruce up a concrete floor by adding designs and colors, you really are only limited by your own imagination!
Concrete staining adds color to the floor and produces a beautiful opaque effect.
Its distinctive look is often described as ‘vintage’ or ‘unique’ and can completely transform the look of any concrete floor by adding character and individuality.
Our concrete staining works by penetrating as much as 1/8" into the concrete floor and allowing the acid stain tiny particles to react with the concrete lime. As these stains become part of the concrete, they can last much longer than other products.
As every concrete is different in composition, age and condition, the reaction between the acid and the concrete is always different.
This is why no two stained floors are the same, even when stained with the same color.
Acid concrete staining is one of the most budget friendly ways to achieve a durable, decorative concrete that is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Acid staining is great for Fort Myers and Cape Coral residential homes, cafes, bars, restaurants, offices, driveways, pathways, hotel lobbies, garages and more.
Although robust, concrete without treatment is susceptible to damage like cracks, scratches, and chipping. The stained concrete floor, with its protective top coat, is harder to damage and will protect against mold and mildew growth.
The sealed surface of acid-stained concrete is incredibly easy to clean, as its smooth, waterproof surface prevents dirt, stains and mildew from getting trapped in the floor. So all you will need to keep your floors clean is a mop and a bucket.
Except for the cost of preparing the concrete floor and applying the acid stain, there is no other cost associated with acid stained floors or maintaining them.
We offer a variety of concrete stain colors, which can enhance the look not only of your concrete but interior too. When choosing a color, consider what color the room is where the floor is to be stained. Rich browns and darker colors will be easy to maintain, whereas lighter colors require regular cleaning.
Concrete staining can be tricky as often you only get one chance. Improper concrete staining can take just a few minutes to go wrong. When in doubt, a concrete professional is the best person to talk to about the homeowner’s ability to stain their concrete and have the best outcome.
At Image Custom Coatings we always start by preparing the concrete floor and doing an acid stain test on a small hidden area. The test shows us how the colors will react with the concrete.
We then mark the floor with the desired patterns and begin applying the stains. Once the stains are applied, we leave the colors to react with the concrete and do its magic. Depending on the concrete, we may have to repeat this step until we reach the desired color.
The final step is to seal the concrete floor with a clear protective topcoat.
With 20 years of experience and over 200 types of flooring options, we have the equipment and personnel to get any floor from 500 square feet to 250,000 square feet done right, on time and on budget.
